Avalanche
water lily. Created by Craig Presnell in 2003 from an unnamed seedling
and pollen from Nymphaea ampla. The light blue petals are accented by
mostly white petaloids with a yellow base. Up to 9" flowers stand close
to 9" above the water surface. Flowers remain open till sunset or later.
These beautiful flowers are framed by gorgeous mostly green leaves with
heavy maroon mottling. Best suited for medium to large ponds this
cultivar will attain a spread over 10'!
Awarded Best new water lily and best tropical lily in 2006 by IWGS,
International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society.
